Kiama Council’s Aged Care Centre of Excellence is to be established on the Kiama Hospital site. The Development Application was approved by the Joint Regional Planning Panel in January 2016 and Council is currently undertaking a tender process to appoint an architect and project manager, to progress the project through the final planning and construction stages.
When complete, the site will incorporate a 134 bed aged care facility, 51 independent living units, 16 assisted living units, community hall, café and meeting rooms. The café and meeting rooms will be located in the renovated Barroul House, one of Kiama’s historic cottages.
Blue Haven Care’s community offices will also be on site, simplifying access to the range of aged care and disability services Blue Haven Care provides.
