Kiama Council has launched its new brand called Blue Haven Care.
Kiama Council has proudly provided community services for 25 years, and the new branding is a celebration of Council’s long standing commitment to caring for those who need a helping hand.
“Kiama Council is committed to helping our residents live at home, with the support of our services and a strong local community”, said Mayor Brian Petschler. “We believe that our residents have the right to enjoy as much independence as possible, so that they can live a fulfilling life which has meaning and purpose.”
An important part of the Blue Haven Care model is Council’s plans for the future of the Kiama Hospital site. The redevelopment of the Kiama Hospital site will include a modern 134 bed aged care facility, including dementia specific care.
“The overall design of the new facility will incorporate dementia friendly principles, reflecting the partnership Kiama Council has with Alzheimers Australia and the University of Wollongong to create a dementia friendly community in Kiama. The new facility is expected to be completed and accepting residents in April 2018,” said General Manager Michael Forsyth.
